New York, NY (CNS) – Parsons The New School For Design, best known for being the home of the sewing and cuts on “Project Runway,” is having their 2009 Fashion Benefit on Wednesday, April 29th at 6pm. The reception, dinner and fashion show, which takes place at Cipriani Wall Street, will honor this year’s major contributors to the field of fashion designers.
This year’s honorees include President & CEO of Calvin Klein, Tom Murry, Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director of the Calvin Klein collection, and Cathy Horyn, fashion critic for the New York Times. Murry and Costa will receive the Honorary Award, while Horyn will receive the first-ever Student Icon Award. Vogue’s Editor-at-Large André Leon Talley and Chairmain, President & CEO of Macy’s Terry Lundgren will present.
The benefit also includes a fashion show featuring the best designs of Parsons’ graduating class. The Parsons Fashion Benefit raises funds for scholarships and academic programs for the fashion design school whose alumni include fashion icons like Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, and Isaac Mizrahi.
Tickets for the benefit begin at $1,500 and $15,000 for tables.
