The past month has been so strange on every single level. Naomi Campbell keeps beating up her help, online blogging for fashion is exploding and I’m looking for new places to shop. These are monumental issues. This first weekend in April, I was more than happy to welcome in a new month. I spent the first day this month traveling around Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. It’s a place I haven’t frequented as much since my first year here almost four years ago this May. Despite the annoying hipsters, my friends and I enjoyed our time hitting countless watering holes, galleries (for yet more drinks – nothing like a free one around pretentious people) and countless overpriced thrift stores. Buffalo Exchange, a chain vintage store has landed to try to give the corner stone Beacon’s Closet a run for its money. I bought some stuff but I can pretty much shop anywhere that doesn’t smell like cheap shoes – but Beacon it is not.(close though)
Funny, I once, while in high school many full moons ago, wanted to open a vintage shop like the little old ladies had. Now they’re just like expensive boutiques and aren’t worth sifting through (even the Goodwill).
So despite the ups and downs in weather, I’m looking forward to this season of renewal. What is in store for spring? Great dresses and open toes and flip-flops in every color. What’s in store for Papierdoll this spring? A Q&A with the CEO of BlueFly, a field trip to Malin + Goetz store and lab, essentials to healthy skin and a better you. Oh! And, of course, shoes!
Don’t forget two things: Earth Day is April 22 and this month Papierdoll announces a giveaway of massive proportions in celebration of our forthcoming 1 year anniversary.
Enjoy the issue and see you next month!
