This month in Papierdoll, we acknowledge that old man winter is on his way. Here in NYC, the temperature has gone from 40 to 68 degrees the past few days. November for Papierdoll is all about coats, sweaters, gloves, scarves and anything else needed to get through the next few months. Our shopper section features a handful of styles for those of us in milder climate regions, winter is not snow and miserable weather for everyone. The shopper will be updated throughout the month, so expect to see a variety of items featured. I was lucky enough to meet Gail Toma, a scarf designer based in South Hampton, NY who reminds you of everything classic. Our required reading section includes a great book on master jeweler Veruda.
We had a lot of response from Wendy Mize’s beauty feature from last month about breast cancer and domestic violence awareness. This month Wendy follows up with an interview with Jane Randel, Vice President of Communications for Liz Claiborne, Inc, it’s an interesting read about about what the Claiborne is doing to help with the domestic violence problem plaguing our communities.
On a lighter note, we want to welcome our new sister site THRIFTYCHICK, it’s in beta mode and we are still trying to get the kinks out, but we hope you love it. Discount shopping, sample sales and coupons are just some of the major perks of Thriftychick. So welcome and I am sure you all will love Thriftychick as much as you love Papierdoll.
Of course there are other great things to see and do this month. You know we will be updating once a week. Later this month, within our retro section, some of our writers tell us who their fashion inspirations are. So stay tuned for great things throughout the month, and of course, stay stylish!
