Daniel Vosovic Spring 2011 Collection

The latest collection of Daniel Vosovic was under the sign of the animal instinct and survival. Building on flexible materials and neutral colors, the line of this Project Runway finalist was mainly inspired by nature and its resources. The parade that came down the runway from this collection was a mystical and powerful short film introduced by Porter Panther, Final Girl, revealing the tone and theme of the fashion show. The film introducing the collection, showed a fragile woman being chased through the forest breathlessly finally confront her attacker. The metaphor of the film demonstrates the atmosphere Vosovic imagined. His intent seemed to be in creating clothes for a woman that is strong and vulnerable at the same time. The collection offers modern cuts and feminine lines, draped in leather belts, matching the size mannequins dressed for a safari areas. The tied, zipped and slashed military-inspired pieces were worn with shorts and short skirts in a palette of beige, gray and khaki. The outfits thathad the attention of the crowd was the printed dresses reminiscent of murky waters and the craggy rocks of the Columbia River Gorge where Daniel Vosovic has drawn its inspiration. A mixture of material well chosen between the raw and pure, wild and contemporary, ideal for modern day warfare.
