Chic.tv Releases Film Craeft on Ports1961 Fall 2010 Collection
August 25, 2010NEW YORK, NY (8/25/2010) CHIC.TV Films is proud to announce the release of Craeft – Ports 1961 – New York Fashion Week – Fall 2010. The fashion documentary provides an insider’s view into the nail-biting process of creating a succesful runway show for Fashion Week at Bryant Park.
Twice a year, the New York fashion community gathers for Fashion Week, the industry’s biggest event. During this whirlwind week, American designers premiere their collections to the judging eyes of the press, buyers, and clients. Each runway show, which typically lasts no more than twelve minutes, takes months of long working hours and extensive man-power to prepare. Craeft is a fashion documentary which grants a unique behind-the-scenes look at the process of preparing a fashion week show.
Cameras take you inside the studio of Ports 1961, as Tia Cibani creates her last collection as Creative Director of the brand. The film allows a rare look into the world of runway models, casting, styling, PR, and the backstage chaos during show-time. When limited time and an impending snowstorm threaten to ruin months of hard work and preparation, it becomes crucial to push past worries and focus on creating a faultless show during one of the most hectic and glamorous weeks of the year.

Craeft is a film made primarily for the web, and will launch today on Hulu Movies (http://www.hulu.com/craeft). Later the film will air on selected CHIC.TV Syndication partners including YouTube Movies and will be available on DVD.

Italian Fashion Group Mariella Burani Seeks To Avoid Bankruptcy
January 22, 2010Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Italian fashion group Mariella Burani is seeking ways to avoid bankruptcy, including meeting with creditor banks to discuss the estimated debt of nearly $1 billion.
The estimated debt combines the four group companies under the Burani name, including Mariella Burani, Antichi Pellettieri, Greenvision Ambiente, and Bioera.
The clothes-maker was recently seeking a new financial advisor after their former advisor, Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario, was unable to renegotiate debts for the group. Burani holds debt with over 40 banks and creditors, which include Deutsche Bank, Bank of China, and Barclays Bank.
Two of Burani’s largest creditor banks, UniCredit SpA and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA are discussing a legally binding creditors’ agreement for the fashion group which sets out how the debt should be repaid.
Mariella Burani Fashion Group previously said in a statement that it was not seeking bankruptcy protection. It also seeks to continue “ongoing operations.”

Chris Brown Poses With Beat-Down Gaultier For Awkward Photo
January 22, 2010Paris, France (CNS) – Chris Brown did it again. Or at least that’s what some would think after viewing pictures of Brown posing next to a seemingly battered Jean Paul Gaultier began circulating online. Somewhere, a PR person was enjoying their day off.
Luckily, the cuts and bruises on Gaultier are fake, but the not-too-distant memories the photos evoke of the Brown and Rihanna incident last year are very real. Remember when Chris Brown’s hits used to refer to music?
But the “I Can Transform Ya” singer was simply sharing a photo op with the famed fashion designer after his latest fashion show. Gaultier played up the boxing-inspired warrior theme of his menswear collection runway show by sporting the beat-down look. Brown, of course, was there for the awkward photo session.
Brown has been making the rounds all over Fashion Weeks, hitting the Milan one earlier in the week and now Paris. His fans, unfortunately, haven’t been hitting up record stores to pick up his latest album, “Graffiti,” or his “Fan Appreciation” concerts. Rumors of Brown possibly being dropped by Jive Records for poor album sales are already abound.

"Jersey Shore" Star JWoww Releases "Sexy Sophisticated" Clothing Line

The line is described on her JWoww.com website as “the ultimate in fashionable clothing.”
“She will be reinventing the term ‘Sexy Sophisticated.’ Not only will her line be ‘Edgy’ and ‘Sexy,’ but it will make people of all ages and body type feel more confident in ‘the scene.’”
“This exclusive line will be limited and custom made to your body type.”
JWoww is often seen with revealing shirts, such as her signature plunging yellow top. She previously sold the low-cut shirts on her Website, but she stopped for a while after she revealed she is starting a full clothing line.

Marisa Miller Still With Victoria's Secret
January 21, 2010Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Marisa Miller is still a Victoria’s Secret angel. The supermodel, who modeled the label’s iconic diamond bra in 2009, has not been relieved of her duties, contrary to a recent rumor.
According to Page Six, the 31-year-old catwalk beauty is no longer working with the lingerie brand.
But President and Chief Marketing Officer, Ed Razek, said in a statement to People that the rumor is “unfounded and untrue.”
“We adore Marisa and we will continue to work with her in the future.”
Miller’s rep said that they are currently in negotiation with Victoria’s Secret to work out a deal for 2010.
The California native made her debut in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2007. She has placed second in AskMen.com’s Top 99 Women of 2010.

Johnny Depp Named One Of GQ Magazine's 25 Most Stylish Men In The World
January 20, 2010New York, NY, United States (CNS) – Johnny Depp’s glamorous yet “eccentric” fashion has landed him a place in GQ magazine’s 25 Most Stylish Men in the World list. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star joins Brad Pitt, Anderson Cooper, and “New Moon” heartthrob Robert Pattinson in the fashion honor roll.
Barney’s Creative Director Simon Doonan explains why the “Pirates” unconventional style works, “Johnny Depp’s a unicorn – a really glamorous, one-of-a-kind eccentric. Usually guys try to fit in; they don’t want to get criticized. At any red carpet event, there are going to be guys who look spiffy in their Prada or Armani tuxedos, but you wait for Johnny Depp, because he’s always going to look super groovy and unconventional.”
He adds that the father of two is not afraid of color and wearing man jewelry, saying, “It doesn’t matter if Johnny Depp’s lying in a ditch – he’s always going to look incredible.”
The list doesn’t have a ranking, but online readers are asked to vote for their favorite fashion icon. Pattinson is currently at first place for the voters with 34 percent, followed by Depp with 33 percent. Anderson is at far third with 4 percent, while Pitt, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, and NFL quarterback are tied at fourth with 3 percent.
Also included in the stylish men list are “Gossip Girl” star Ed Westwick, David Beckham, Ryan Gosling, Jude Law, Pharrell Williams, Daniel Day-Lewis, Russell Brand, Jay-Z, and LeBron James.

Dannii Minogue Rumored Next Face Of Marks & Spencer
January 20, 2010London, United Kingdom (CNS) – Dannii Minogue is rumored to be the new face of U.K. high street store Marks & Spencer. The “X-Factor” judge will follow in the footsteps of TV personality Myleene Klass as the brand’s number one model.
According to magazine reports, sources are indicating that the store is keen to secure Minogue as their latest leading lady for the brand. The judge on the ITV1 show “X-Factor” has been hailed as one of the best dressed after appearing on the Saturday and Sunday night shows always looking stunning. Critics have been eager to compare her fashion to that of the other judge Cheryl Cole, often hailing Minogue as the better dressed.
The opportunity from M&S couldn’t be better timed for the Aussie star, as bookies are currently offering odds of 2-1 that she will be replaced on the next season of the “X-Factor.” The lucrative contract will further emphasize her status as one of the best dressed women in Britain.

Julia Roberts To Become New Face Of Lancôme
January 19, 2010Paris, France (CNS) – Actress Julia Roberts will be raking in some big bucks to become the new face of Lancôme. The cosmetics giant is reportedly paying the “Duplicity” star $20 million to head up the new campaign.
Roberts is following other big name stars such as Juliette Binoche, Uma Thurman, Drew Barrymore, Mena Suvari and Isabella Rossellini, who have previously worked for Lancôme. Clive Owen became the first male spokesperson for the company’s Men’s skincare range and fragrance, Hypnôse Homme.
According to RadarOnline.com, the company executives didn’t mind forking out an enormous amount to land the actress. Roberts was reportedly flown to Paris with her husband Danny Moder immediately after Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards show in Los Angeles to begin shooting the new campaign.
Roberts will appear in the Spring 2010 campaign for Lancôme.

Vivienne Westwood Debuts Homeless-Inspired Menswear Collection
January 19, 2010Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – “Let me show you Derelicte. It is a fashion, a way of life inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique,” said Will Ferrell’s Mugatu in the Ben Stiller-directed comedy “Zoolander,” an outlandish parody which seems as if its coming true nearly ten years after its release thanks to famed fashion designer Vivenne Westwood.
Westwood introduced her latest menswear collection at Milan Fashion Week in a runway show that can only be described as “homeless chic.”
The male models all wore layers and layers of mostly tattered, mismatched clothing, including a purple skirt, bright orange firefighter pants, and a wrap sweater. One male model even wore a large orange jumpsuit. Escaped convict chic?
The collection took the homeless theme a step further. The runway was lined with cardboard boxes, including one model who actually came out of a box. One model was seen carrying a bedroll, while another was seen wearing a large fur coat and pushing a shopping cart.
Even Westwood was in on the act, being pushed out at the end of the runway show on a stretcher.
“Vivienne Westwood found inspiration in the roving vagrant whose daily get-up is a battle gear for the harsh weather conditions,” said the press release for the runway show. “Quilted bombers and snug hoodies also work well in keeping the vagrant warm.”

Britney Spears To Promote Candie's Brand For Another Year
January 19, 2010Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Candie’s announced today that it renewed its partnership with pop star Britney Spears to promote the company’s brand for another year. Available exclusively at Kohl’s department stores, Spears will appear in Candie’s marketing campaigns throughout 2010.
During 2009, Candie’s saw sales surge with Britney Spears as the face of the brand. Among promotions were ads during her sold-out “Circus” shows, online and in-store advertising, and even Spears sporting different Candie’s looks in her music video for “Radar.”
“I had a great experience working with Candie’s and Kohl’s last year and I am thrilled to be asked to sign on again for a second year,” Spears stated on the re-newed partnership. “We’re planning some very cool photo shoots and I can’t wait for my fans to see them.”
Candie’s will reveal details on its Spring 2010 marketing campaign next month. Meanwhile, Spears is beginning work on her seventh studio album, due out in stores later this year.
