If you haven’t seen an entire Zang Toi collection in the past, then your perception of Zang Toi’s Fall 2015 collection might be skewed. Past collections leaned heavily on grand gowns and extensive embellishments per individual piece. Indeed, a couple of season’s ago, Toi did an entire western themed collection that was larger than life. This Fall, you don’t get that. You get a more subdued Zang Toi that heavy on the sophisticated modern woman and man. He doesn’t abandon the larger than life gown. In fact the gowns still have his DNA fingerprint all over. Including the gowns with the majestic sequin cityscape adorning the cape (on several), the seductive dress that falls right below the rare, the leather dress/knit combination, the suede oversized lapel coat, the men’s suit in nude (females get their version as well), the sequined turtleneck and the beautiful velvet pants suit… the list goes on. Toi’s Fall 2015 collection is also darker in color compared to his previous works. It makes for a sleeker, sharper look that will most likely go down as one of his best thus far.
