Mara Hoffman’s Fall 2015 at first glance is set against a backdrop of southwestern American influenced design. Think a Mestizo / Native American feel with as an example the wrap around shawl in deep black with white, yellow and orange hues in a directional arrow prints, the throw top in colorblocked style with blue, white and orange/pink hue, the thick strapped jumper with detailed layering in all white, the kaleidescope top underneath the all black v-neck dress. This is a comfort collection. There’s no pretense at all. Every item is centered around a uniquely comfortable setting. There is that retro feel that’s permeated this season’s collection, but Hoffman takes it in a different direction. Think less disco and more comfort formal. It’s an interesting take from Hoffman and there will be takers.
