Inspired by the Sunset illuminated waters of the Grand Canal and the gothic architecture of the Ca d’oro reflected on it, todays collection seemed to capture that beauty that can only be found in Venice.
With a color palette of Ivory, Navy, Black, Gold and muted pink and jade, the collection had a soft ethereal nature about it. Flowy dresses and skirts in chiffon, embroided tulle and lace were juxtoposed by the capes and their anchoring nature. They were added to floor length gowns and shifts alike in such a dramatic fashion that it quite literally took my breath away.
Sheer is still in according in according to Mr. Shoji and I love it. Employin the use of jewel embellished inserts and chain mesh inserts, he artfully and ever so delicately highlights the decollatage, midriff and legs. It was a pleasure to see and dream of wearing.
