This is the first time I had ever attended a Vivienne Tam runway show and hopefully it won’t be the last. Tam’s Fall 2014 collection is an eclectic mix of furs, leathers and a multitude of light knits in earthones with a splash of color mixed in. Tam to great effect doesn’t overwhelm the senses. Her collection contained abstract print dresses against a nude backdrop and a surprising piece that looked celtic in nature. The dress had what looked like an Irish print with bands along the arms and ankles. Tam also had a daring knit skirt with cut outs and a long slit that ran along up mid-thigh. It was sexy without being too over the top. Where Tam’s collection excelled was in the use of leather. A cinch waisted dress in light brown was beautifully styled with 60s print sleeves. Tam’s Fall 2014 collection is sophisticated and sexy and the mix of knit design and leather (check out the red photo) makes it a must have for fall.
