It’s hard to pin down Son Jung Wan’s collection for Fall 2014 collection. While some of it has an contemporary fashion influence, some of it also has an edge not commonly found in contemporary circles. It’s a bit of a welcome contradiction. The collection consisted of dual looks on the same piece. An example is a multi-hued dark denim and fabric dress half dark denim half multi colored fabric with soft velvet-like shoulders, you saw a lot of reflective metallic pieces including a jacket with detailing along the wrists and side, there was also a fur dark waist length coat with light color detailing at waist and wrist. There was a beautiful double lapel olive gray dress that was had a slight metallic sheen and fell about an inch and a half above the knee. Wan’s collection had some strengths that are undeniable. Not everything will please everyone because stylistically this Fall 2014 collection evolves from the aforementioned contemporary look to edgy space aged at times. But the good overshadows the not-so.
