How hard is it to head your fashion line as well as one of the most historically influential? Alexander Wang is making it look easy, but it is surely not. Wang held a show in Brooklyn’s Navy Yard and it was a who’s who of editors on the dole in attendance. One of the best collections seen during fashion week this far, Wang displayed prep school knee shorts, knits that were flared out, outerwear containing puffers, shearlings and oversized cagoules. As if this wasn’t enough from a rotating floor consisting of models in page-boy hair cuts, his choice of color was varied as well as intentional. It’s as if, Wang brought a Paris aesthetic to New York. How oh how will he best this showing at Balenciaga in three weeks?
