NEW YORK, — Stylesight, the industry leading global content and technology solution for style, fashion and design professionals, joined Parsons School of Design last night to host an industry-led panel, The New Creative Dynamic: Creativity and Design in the 21st Century. Stylesight’s Chief Creative Officer Isham Sardouk participated in the panel held at Parsons Auditorium in New York City.
Sardouk appeared on the panel alongside Robert Stock cofounder and CCO Robert Graham, Parsons’ Associate Professor of Fashion Jonathan KYLE Farmer, and AHAlife founder and CEO Shauna Mei that was moderated by Rita Nakouzi, Partner and Creative Director of Four Point Five Productions. Nakouzi led the panel through a discussion on the current and future states of the creative design field and the most pertinent topics impacting the fashion industry.
“The twenty-first century will be dominated more by right brain thinkers, whereas the twentieth century was driven by the left brain to fulfill the need to build and construct, today we need to create and innovate,” said Isham Sardouk. “Creativity comes out of conversation, which explains the importance of curation in a world of information overload.”
“Last night’s panel exemplified that the world we live in is now more than ever shaped by design,” said Jonathan KYLE Farmer. “Each of us on the panel have very different roles within the fashion industry, but what I feel drives us all is that we challenge the world of fashion and look for innovation in places other people often don’t look.”
The two-part evening event also featured live streaming of the Parsons 2013 Fashion Benefit Awards and Fashion Presentation from Chelsea Piers honoring Bonnie Brooks and Parsons alumni Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler for their contributions to Parsons, the fashion industry, and philanthropy. Funds raised at the event support Parsons’ scholarships, a global leader in art and design education.
