New York, NY, United States (AHN) – With the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer just a few short weeks away, it’s time to start thinking about sandals.
Sandals are easy. They can be worn to the beach, a picnic, for a walk on the boardwalk or even a night on the town.
This year, several eye-catching trends have emerged and are walking all over catwalks worldwide. While some styles require a bit more effort, like lacing up, the newest trends in sandals are ones that are wearable as well as walkable.
Platforms are back. They are stylish and attractive. They can be worn with shorts or a little black dress. Choose colors ranging from nude to bright neons.
Wedges are also popular. New lines feature faux-wooden, cork and Lucite heels. Some come adorned with baubles, jewels and feathers. Colors include solids and color-blocked. They are perfect paired with designer jeans or a flowing ankle length dress.
The iconic espadrilles are still in style. These carefree light shoes are popular for both their comfort and cost. Espadrilles work well with capris, jeans, a sundress, and time spent outdoors.
No longer are sandals defined by their flat soles. Some of the newest and trendiest lines offer sky-high heels. Gladiator type sandals, with criss-crossing straps that entwine up the calves, are a recurring fashion trend. And, for those who like to stick with tradition, simple, basic flat sandals have endless choices.
If you can’t decide on just one pair, with little effort and careful selection you can buy several pairs and not break the bank.
