Tokyo, Japan (4E) – As a response to the summer heat and the need to conserve energy, Japanese lingerie company Triumph released Wednesday the Super Cool Bra, a novelty brassiere with built-in ice packs that aims to keep women’s bodies cool and refreshed.
Each cup of the novel undergarment is designed like a fish tank to make it visually refreshing and includes ornamental mint leaves and small wind chimes that dangle along the chest bone. It also comes with a bamboo ladle and small paper fans, strategically placed on the sides, to further beat the heat. The gel pads that come with it should be refrigerated before inserted into the cups for a “super cool feeling.”
During the launch, two models displayed the brassiere, pairing them with skirts made of mosquito nets and bamboo blinds.
The Triumph company said the brassiere was developed to support Japan’s campaign to reduce energy consumption during the summer, and as preparation for a power shortage succeeding the shutdown of all nuclear reactors after the Fukushima crisis in 2011.
