New York, NY, United States (AHN) – As Disney’s iconic animated fairy tale Cinderella is set to be re-released on Blu-ray and DVD this fall, the celebrated French shoe designer Christian Louboutin will offer his own interpretation of the character’s glass slippers with a pair of designer shoes.
Those anxious for a peak at the new creation can catch a glimpse this summer.
Louboutin, famous for his sky-high red-soled heels, will add his own fabled touch to the fairy tale footwear.
Louboutin told WWD in late April, “I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.”
Cinderella isn’t the only fairy tale heroine to be a major source for fashion trends in 2012.
With the release of a new Hollywood take on the tale “Snow White and the Huntsman,” the film motivated a Benefit Cosmetic beauty kit that will allow fans to paint themselves similar to the film’s hero Kristen Stewart’s pale and flawless beauty.
Fairy tales were also the theme for the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 collection, described by creative director Marc Jacobs as “spring-like and magical.”
