New York, NY, United States (AHN) – Want to know what the newest color trend for Spring 2012 is? It’s orange–orange you glad you asked.
Some love it, others hate it. But, bright, fiery, and bold orange is one of the hottest color trends for next spring.
Described as cheery, festive and fun, orange will be the must-have color in everything from overcoats, to dresses, to sweaters, to dishware, to handbags, to shoes, to eyeliner.
Orange was popular back in the 1920s, 1960s, and the 80s. Some researchers say the color is for cheering people up in a down economy.
Over the past two years, the color has had a resurgence. Orange has been glorious for designers, cosmetics, homewares, paints and furniture. After appearing on the spring runways of such iconic designers as Marc Jabobs and Jill Simon’s Raf Simons, orange is officially “in.”
Manufactures love the color because it makes products stand out. Many have had fun with the color, using names such as tangerine, terra cotta (named color of the year in September by paint maker Akzo Nobel NV), carrot, apricot, bittersweet, cantaloupe, peach and coral.
Any way you say it, orange is sure to blossom for the spring of 2012.
