Tokyo, Japan (AHN) – On one hand it sounds kind of eerie. On the other hand it sounds kind of intriguing.
Panasonic has developed a robot that washes human hair. The machine uses a total of 24 fingers and advanced robotic technology to mimic the human touch.
The robot is not yet available for commercial use. It was designed to help with the care of the growing elderly population in Japan and the handicapped.
This latest robot is actually the second version. The original only had 16 total fingers.
The new robot can shampoo, massage the scalp and rinse in just three minutes. Conditioning and a blow dry adds five minutes.
