London, England, United Kingdom (AHN) – While many men desire to hang on to the belief that they can still wear the jeans of their youth, it simply wasn’t so, until now, thanks to new sizing.
Vanity sizing, which has been around for quite some time in ladies fashion, has now appeared in menswear. The newest trend in men’s trousers is “manity sizing,” and it has hit UK stores with a vengeance.
Research shows that the waistbands on pants sold by top fashion chains in London are far more generous than the actual measurements. The move has led not to just deception, but to no standard when it comes to sizing.
Men have been known to go to great lengths to put off purchasing pants a waist size or two larger. Some wear their pants low, with their bellies spilling over. Others have turned to control underwear, vest and pants designed to give a slimming look. High waistbands are tried by some, but the results are not pretty.
The truly bad news for men is that the skewed sizing found in four out of five British stores means more trying on of clothes and more shopping, not a favorite pastime for most men.
