Dallas, Texas, United States (AHN) – Bottoms up.
Kimberly Clark’s Huggies brand is rolling out a line of designer diapers in a move they hope will boost sales.
The new “style” is a camouflage print design to be released in a limited edition. Dubbed the Huggies Camo diaper, the new nappy is blue in color and has a camouflage like print. For the next three months, Huggies will donate one diaper to a military service family in need for every package sold at Walmart stores.
In 2010, Huggies released a successful diaper line that looked like blue jeans, and relaunched them this spring, with sales to date totaling 60 million.
Designers diapers are not new or exclusive. Pampers has floral print diapers for girls and argyle prints for boys. And gDiapers, an eco-line of diapers, offers diapers with ruffles for girls, plaids for boys, and will introduce a line with skateboards this fall.
The diaper market is a $5 billion industry. Players are constantly looking at ways to boost sales and gain market share.
Ad executives say the next change and movement in the industry may well be leopard prints.
