Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Lady Gaga is urging her 8.8 million Twitter followers to donate to relief efforts in Japan and she made it easier, and fashionable, by designing her own wristband. It’s already raised over $250,000 in just three days.
“Monsters: in just 48 hrs you’ve raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief,” she told her millions of fans on Monday. She first announced the wristband on Friday.
Gaga’s white-and-red wristband features her signature claw, as well as “We Pray for Japan” written in both English and Japanese.
The wristband costs just $5, but buyers can “choose their price” and are encouraged to donate more, with all proceeds going directly to Japan relief.
The wristband is available for purchase through her website and is expected to ship on March 25th.
Gaga has shown her love for Japanese fans before. When she performed four of her “Monster Ball” concerts in the region last year, she had a temporary tattoo scribed in Katakana on her arm during her arrival that read, “I love little monster.”
