London, United Kingdom (CNS) – Future queen Kate Middleton has reportedly chosen the late Alexander McQueen’s fashion house to design her wedding dress. Prince William’s bride is said to be wearing a gown that will be designed by creative director Sarah Burton.
According to the Telegraph, Kate and Burton have collaborated on the perfect dress that she will wear when she walks down the aisle on April 29. And while the royal wedding dress is already underway inside Buckingham Palace, Kate still wants the details to be kept a secret.
Burton has denied the report that she is designing the very mysterious dress, but the paper’s sources insisted that she was chosen because of her relatively low profile and her alternative take on elegance.
A spokeswoman for the fashion label said, “Sarah is busy working on her new collection for the Tuesday show and she was as surprised as the rest of us to hear about this. She is not designing the dress.”
Although not denying or confirming the report, a spokesman for Clarence House was a bit more impatient, saying, “We always knew that there would be a lot of speculation about the appointment of the designer. Because Catherine Middleton is keen to keep this private, we are not responding to this in any way at all.”
“This is about the 10th one we’ve been asked about in the last three months and it’s getting a bit ridiculous.”
