New York, NY, United States (CNS) – First Lady Michelle Obama is making fashion headlines once again for her cheap but chic choice. Mrs. Barack Obama appeared before Matt Lauer on NBC’s “Today Show” for a one-on-one interview wearing a breezy and casual $34.95 dress from H&M.
Michelle talked about a bevy of things, from her husband’s graying hair and smoking habit, why she bans daughters Malia and Sasha to have a Facebook account, and her Let’s Move! health initiative.
And while the first lady made some valid points and raised some questions, it’s her casual fashion that made the real statement.
She wore a navy, polka dot ¾ sleeves frock from the retail chain H&M’s current collection, which only costs $34.95. But instead of the red belt sash that goes with the original sleeveless dress, Michelle complemented the breezy dress with a wide orange belt. She completed the ensemble with bright yellow pumps.
This is not the first time the president’s wife has worn fashionable but inexpensive clothes. Although she has donned high-end, fancy gowns in major events, she also favors bargain fashion, including shirts and accessories from Gap, Target, and J. Crew.
