Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Britney Spears is out, Vanessa Hudgens is in as the new face of Candie’s. Britney passed the pink, studded baton over to the “High School Musical” star and singer, who’ll lead the brand’s campaign for the 2011 year.
Spears joined Candie’s at the start of her “Circus” era, where she promoted the brand on her tour and in photo shoots, but even went on to design her own line for the brand. Fergie, Hilary Duff, and Jenny McCarthy have all repped the brand as well.
Hudgens is following right in their footsteps, with an ultra-sexy campaign shot by Tony Duran, which shows her hanging around the Pink Motel in Sun Valley, CA, including enjoying a burger at the diner and getting into pillow fights in the room.
Along with Candie’s photo shoots and promotional events, Hudgens is going to have a big year in 2011 with starring roles in the upcoming films “Beastly” and “Sucker Punch.”
“Ever since I saw Fergie do the ads for Candie’s, I fell in love. It’s such an honor to be a Candie’s girl,” commented Vanessa Hudgens. She added, “We had a blast shooting the campaign, one of my favorite sets was using the diner countertop as a runway, it’s definitely not every day I get to do that.”
Spears was supportive of her successor, tweeting the announcement to her millions of followers. “So fun being a Candie’s Girl! Look out for the @Candiesbrand pics of their new girl, Vanessa Hudgens!” she tweeted.
“Thnx, @BritneySpears, you’re a tough act to follow …but, I’m so excited to be the new Candie’s girl for 2011!!” Hudgens replied.
The campaign will debut its ads in the pages of Seventeen, Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan and the line is sold exclusively at Kohl’s stores.
