Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Remember clogs? The thick sole shoes made primarily of wood or cork that were all the rage in the 70’s and lastly in the 90’s? They’re back and they’re heading to H&M stores worldwide.
In a new collaboration between H&M and shoe line Swedish Hasbeens (a line from two childhood best friends created in 2007 with a cult following and also a great way to describe clogs), three styles of wooden-soled clogs have been created exclusively for H&M stores.
A strappy, gladiator-style wedge with three buckle ankle straps over a wooden wedge will be available in cream, tan and black. A heeled summer sandal with one ankle strap will come in cream and red. Lastly, a peep-toe slip-on wedge with leather will also be available.
“I love the genuine feeling you get from Hasbeens, from the wood and the leather, and also how they take something traditional and Swedish and make it contemporary and modern,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design. “These Hasbeens for H&M fit perfectly with the ’70s bohemian look that’s so important this coming season.”
Hasbeens have been worn by Sarah Jessica Parker and Maggie Gyllenhaal and are available in 22 countries. H&M stores are in 37 countries and the new H&M Hasbeens are set to debut in stores in 150 of their stores worldwide starting April 20th.
