Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Los Angeles Fashion Week is coming to a close Oct. 20 after starting Oct. 13. On Oct. 17, LA saw the spring 2011 collection of WTB, the collection by rockers Richie Sambora and Nikki Lund.
WTB, a contemporary line that stands for “White Trash Beautiful,” created by designer/musician Lund and Bon Jovi guitarist Sambora, premiered earlier this year at Los Angeles Fashion Week in March 2010.
A California Native, Lund was already an established fashion designer and musician when Sambora contacted her in 2008 about a possible collaboration. By January 2009, the two musicians with a heavy interest in fashion started “White Trash Beautiful” music and WTB fashions.
The line consists of distressed leather and faux leather separates, zipper embellished jackets, metallic capes, sexy dresses, and evening gowns and more.
Among the celebrities in attendance were Heather Locklear, singer Christina Milian “American Idol” winner Kimberly Caldwell, Natasha Henstridge, Tatyana Ali (Actress – “French Prince of Bel-Air”), Janet Montgomery from “Entourage,” Jodie Sweetin from “Full House,” Charlotte Ross from “Glee,” and reality star Bridget Marquardt from “The Girls Next Door.”
Ava Sambora, Richie’s daughter with Heather Locklear, walked the runway in the show, and several of the celebrity guests wore WTB to the show itself. On the red carpet before she walked in the show, Sambora wore a black long-sleeved sheer blouse with lace detail and skinny black pants. Her mother, Locklear, also showed support for her ex-husband and wore a WTB black leather jacket with silver button detail.
Animal prints are a big trend for fall, and “American Idol” Caldwell donned a black and white zebra print silk long sleeve tunic dress. The ladies in chiffon were Sweetin and “Glee’s” Ross; Sweetin wore a red silk chiffon printed long sleeve tunic blouse paired with signature WTB black leather pants and Ross wore a black long sleeve dress with cutout back and accessorized it with a black, white and tan chiffon and chain necklace. Yes, a little different, but they both wore chiffon.
Ali walked the red carpet in a strapless black and white printed dress with a satine skirt, and Marquardt showed her support in a black sequin mini skirt with black and pink tulle train and crystal suspender straps and black puff sleeve long-sleeved shirt.
Even the designers themselves wore their own designs: Richie Sambora wore a black military inspired jacket with built in leather vest and trim and black pants; Lund looked gorgeous in a black gown with sweetheart neckline and hand dyed deconstructed train with leather appliqué accents and feathered strap.
