Michael van der Ham throws any instance of symmetry out of the window. The designer presents a pieces for the Spring 2011 season with hues of azure, white and pink (primarily in the accents used). There’s no question that Michael van der Ham understands the female form, as the collection looks wonderful, save for the usage of colors. It seems as if some of the colors were put together with slight thought and more towards creating an intricate look through a melange of fabric and design. What we’re left with are entirely serviceable pieces that come apart with the disparate color choices. There’s genius and beauty in van der Ham’s collection but it’s lost in the message, again, with the selection of color.
