The Ground Show Spring 2011 collection may be an answer to all of the outlandish collections shown during London Fashion Week. Almost entirely purple in nature the Ground Show had more of a house wife’s / homemaker aesthetic than a daring fashion collection. If that was the intention is succeeded marvelously using floral patterns and layering reminiscent of gypsy/boho looks, the designer stripped away a possibility of edge and left us with a collection that followed through on the merits of a trend seen permeate the early 2000s. Was this an attempt to bring back that era? Possibly. One thing’s for certain in a Lodnon filled with naked models and outlandish pieces this was a purely by the numbers affair with some pieces more palatable to everyday wear.
