New York, NY, United States (AHN) – “Project Runway” fixture Tim Gunn is feeling the wrath of Vogue editor-in-chief and fashion force Anna Wintour after he exposed some of her stranger behaviors. But Gunn, the Chief Creative Officer of Liz Claiborne, couldn’t care less.
In his “Gunn’s Golden Rules” book, he shares some of the questionable behaviors he has witnessed people in fashion do. One anecdote claims that Wintour needed a set of bodyguards to carry her down five flights of stairs.
After he first spoke of the tale to New York Post, Wintour apparently demanded a retraction. But Gunn held his ground after an associate spoke of its veracity.
He told to WWD, “It’s reportage! It’s about reporting what I see. I’m an observer.”
He added that he had friends and colleagues that warned him he will never get invited to a dinner party again, but his only response was “Hallelujah!”
Gunn said that he expects to be snubbed by Wintour if they cross paths at the New York Fashion Week. Still, he insists that he wasn’t maligning her character.
He told the NY Post, “I wasn’t slinging mud or criticizing her character. More than 30 people must have seen it. I’m just the only one brave enough to tell the truth. Lord knows hell would freeze over if I came face to face with her here, but I probably wouldn’t be able to see past her handlers.”
