NEW YORK, NY (September 9, 2010) – For its third season, The GreenShows Eco Fashion Week will present ten fashion designers committed to environmental and social responsibility, September 12-14 during New York Fashion Week. The GreenShows will take place at Metropolitan Pavilion’s new eco-conscious venue, The Metropolitan Suit, centrally located in the heart of Chelsea at 123 West 18th Street, 2nd Floor.
The GreenShows at Metropolitan Pavilion is the only premiere fashion event exclusively committed to eco-friendly, ethically sound, fair-trade fashion during New York Fashion Week. This 3-day event will feature a selection of fashion designers who have been given the opportunity, support and resources to show their collections under one roof.
The ten designers selected to show at The GreenShows at Metropolitan Pavilion are Samantha Pleet (New York), Susan Cianciolo (New York), Bright Young Things by Eliza Starbuck (New York), Ashton Michael Black Label(Los Angeles), Lavuk by Natasha Gindin (Los Angeles), JoAnn Berman (New York), Auralis (New York/Puerto Rico), Luis Valenzuela (Miami), Dress Reform (New York), Milliners Guild (New York). The 3-day event is sponsored in part by Metropolitan Pavilion–a 55,000 sq ft, 4-floor special events venue that has become a central location for fashion shows and as a career starting point for several designers who have become household names. The Metropolitan Suite, an 8,500 sq ft space located on the 2nd floor, is retrofitted with eco-friendly flooring, LED lighting, and employs a stringent waste and recycling program.
