Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – There’s nothing unusual about Lady Gaga wearing bizarre outfits. But her latest costume has angered the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The animal campaigner group’s beef with “The Fame Monster” hitmaker is about her outfit on the cover of Japanese Men’s Vogue magazine, in which she poses in a bikini made of raw red meats.
PETA president Ingrid Newkirk said, “Lady Gaga’s job is to do outlandish things, and this certainly qualifies as outlandish because meat is something you want to avoid putting on or in your body.”
“No mater how beautifully it is presented, flesh from a tortured animal is flesh from a tortured animal. Meat represents bloody violence and suffering, so if that’s the look they were going for – they achieved it.”
This is not the first time Lady Gaga has been called out for her sartorial choices. But since the 24-year-old Grammy winner doesn’t respond to her critics, don’t expect her to issue an apology for covering herself in meat.
