Venice, Italy (AHN) – Julianne Moore’s bare-naked ad is banned in Venice. The mayor deems the 49-year-old actress’ ad for Italian luxury label Bulgari too risqué to adorn the Doge’s Palace in the city.
The questioned ad features “The Kids Are All Right” star nude in a reclining position, with her modesty covered only by the brand’s handbag and two lion cubs.
It was expected to be posted at the Doge’s Palace, which overlooks St. Mark’s Square and Venice’s lagoon. However, Mayor Giorgio Orsoni feels the ad is too risqué for the city.
He was quoted by the Telegraph telling Italian newspapers as saying, “An advertisement showing a nude woman on a divan is not appropriate for St. Mark’s Square.”
Nothing personal, though. Orsoni apparently plans to replace her naked photo with a Bulgari jewels ad featuring a fully clothed Moore.
