New York, New York, United States (AHN) – Want to hear what four fashion icons have to say…to an icon who is interviewing them? Then mark your calendar for September 19 – this is when the Hallmark Channel will air Martha Stewart’s first primetime interview special: “The Women Who Dress America.”
This one-hour Hallmark Channel original special will be hosted by Martha Stewart. Stewart will be interviewing four icons in the fashion industry: Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Tory Burch and Jenna Lyons.
The special coincides with the close of New York’s Fashion Week. Stewart will hold one-on-one interviews with each designer and visionary, and will ask the four revered American fashion designers about their passions, their ideals and the trends they favor for the seasons ahead.
The designers include Diane von Furstenberg, who grew into a designing legend after taking the industry by storm with her signature wrap dress in 1974; Tory Burch, whose luxurious, versatile clothing lines transcend generations and are found in the closets of everyone from soccer moms to socialites; Jenna Lyons, whose ascension at J. Crew is testament to this newly-named president and former creative director’s influence on the retailer’s runaway success story; and Donna Karan, one of the most successful and talented designers of our time.
Throughout the special, Martha engages these four quintessential, fashion legends in an intimate setting, digging beneath the surface to uncover each woman’s essence and sources of inspiration.
“I’m looking forward to hosting these primetime specials for Hallmark Channel and to having very candid conversations with these four interesting and influential women,” Stewart said in a statement. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring our viewers a different side of the world of fashion and a better understanding of the challenges and rewards of being on fashion’s front lines.”
A second “Martha Stewart Presents” special is already scheduled for November.
