Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – When she’s not starring on “Gossip Girl” or fronting her band The Pretty Reckless, Taylor Momsen is a “celebrity muse.” Or at least that’s what she’s been dubbed by Madonna and daughter Lola as the face of Material Girl, the new junior line spearheaded by the Material Girl herself.
Momsen is currently appearing in nationwide print, online, in-store, outdoor and even cinema ads for the new clothing line. The ads will also appear in magazines like Nylon, Teen Vogue, Seventeen, and more.
She’ll also help launch Material Girl at Macy’s with a special in-store acoustic performance and meet-and-greet at the Macy’s Herald Square in New York on August 3rd . The “Makes Me Wanna Die” singer will perform material from her band’s upcoming album and possibly a cover of a Madonna classic.
“I’m psyched to be the face of Material Girl!” Momsen said. “For one, it’s Madonna so you know it’s gonna be cool and working with Madonna and Lola has been an unbelievable experience. They have such great sense of style, each brought their personal touch to the styling for the campaign.”
“Taylor has a cool sense of style that’s unique and fits with the Material Girl look,” Madonna said about the 16-year-old, who was chosen by Lola and Madonna personally.
Madonna and Lola will also make an appearance at Macy’s Herald Square on September 22nd to celebrate the launch of their new line. While Momsen and Madonna will only appear at one store, Macy’s stores across the country will hold Madonna-inspired events to celebrate the line’s debut.
The Material Girl line launches at 200 Macy’s stores nationwide on August 3rd, just in time for back-to-school shopping.
