Florence, Italy (AHN) – Because even babies need to be in draped in luxury, Gucci is launching a children’s collection for the diaper bunch and the sippy cup set. The Italian fashion house will be unveiling its first little ones collection this month.

Gucci will present the new spring 2011 children’s collection by designer Frida Giannini on June 24 during the Pitti Bimbo trade fair.

The collection, produced in-house by Gucci suppliers and maked by a gold teddy bear logo, will include clothing, shoes, accessories, gifts and sunglasses for boys and girls in two age groups: the 0 to 2 years and the 2 to 8 years.

It seems that the fashion label is very busy nowadays. It recently unveiled the first of its couture collection when Salma Hayek showed up at the premiere of “Robin Hood” at the Cannes Film Festival last month in a maroon one-shoulder number.

It also announced that it will be launching a green initiative, including a more eco-friendly packaging and mannequins.
