Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – The latest collaboration between “Star Wars” and Adidas has just gotten even more star-studded. A new promo for the brand’s 2010 Originals campaign features Ciara, Snoop Dogg, David Beckham, “The Sorceror’s Apprentice” star Jay Baruchel, and Daft Punk, among others, all recreating a famous scene from the blockbuster movie.
The stars are seen in a new re-edit of the famous “Star Wars” scene at the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine. The superstars can be seen mixing amongst droids, aliens, and infamous characters like Chewbacca, C-3PO and Harrison Ford’s Han Solo.
The spot, created for the FIFA World Cup, is set to launch on U.K. and US television on June 12th, while the full 2 minute version is already available for viewing online and has already garnered a million views.
“The theme of the 2010 Originals campaign is a neighborhood of originality,” said Tom Ramsden, Global Director of Communications, adidas Originals. “So when we thought about how to best present adidas’ partnerships with Star Wars and the FIFA World Cup™, we immediately thought of temporarily turning the Mos Eisley Cantina into a place to watch some football and invite some friends along. The result is a truly unique, original film.”
Adidas and Lucasfilm Ltd first partnered in early 2010 to start a line of apparel and footwear based around “Star Wars,” which currently includes purple Princess Leia sneakers and Chewbacca track jackets. They’re available for purchase online.
