Cannes, France (AHN) – Salma Hayek’s Gucci couture dress has fetched $21,000 in an auction. The first ever gown from the label’s new couture line, Gucci Premiere, was auctioned to raise money for the Haitian Relief Organization.
The gown went under the hammer in Cannes on Wednesday. It was auctioned off together with a box containing a sketch of the original dress especially made for the actress and signed by Frida Giannini, the label’s creative director.
It fetched 17,000 euros [around $21,000], according to Vogue.co.uk.
Hayek was the one who debuted the collection when she first wore the stunning number weeks ago at the inaugural night screening of “Robin Hood” in Cannes.
