Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Eat, Pray, Love. Shop. That’s what Los Angeles jewelry brand Dogeared hopes people do after watching the latest Julia Roberts film based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s book when they debut a collection of jewelry, books, and travel items associated with “Eat, Pray, Love.” They’ve also inked a deal to design duds based on “Sex and the City 2.”
In “Eat, Pray, Love,” Julia Roberts dons some worldly fashion accessories to portray a woman who travels across India and Indonesia, including beaded necklaces in earth tones and bohemian bracelets. Dogeared is using Gilbert and Roberts for inspiration.
“This is a totally natural fit for Dogeared,” said brand founder Marcia Maizel-Clarke to WWD. ” “We relate to the theme of a woman’s journey for self-fulfillment and happiness.”
The “Eat, Pray, Love” collection will be sold by ABC Home and Fred Segal in Los Angeles. The collection is priced from $20 to over $100 for some pieces.
Dogeared also inked a deal to create a line of jewelry based on the upcoming sequel to “Sex and the City.” Inspired by Carrie Bradshaw and friends, the “Sex and the City 2” line by Dogeared is set to launch at Bloomingdales and Ron Robinson at Fred Segal. The collection will run from $30 to about $150.
The “Sex and the City 2” collection is set to launch in May, while the movie hits theaters on May 27th. The “Eat, Pray, Love” collection will hit stores later in the summer. The movie hits theaters on August 13th.
