Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) – Now you too can smell like a Konvict. Singer Akon released two scents for both men and women titled Konvict and its controversial packaging is already stirring some buzz for the music star’s first foray into fragrances.
Akon made a name for himself with Konvict Music, releasing hit songs and albums from artists such as himself and T-Pain under the label. Konvict has since expanded into clothing and now perfumery, including Konvict Homme for men and Konvict Femme for women.
Konvict Homme features a masculine mix of bergamot, lemon, sandalwood, and cedar. Konvict Femme combines lemon, mandarin, vanilla, and almond musk for a fruitier, more feminine aroma.
The packaging, of course, plays on the Konvict brand. The fragrance packs contain two 1.7oz bottles connected by a chain which form a set of handcuffs. Homme is presented in silver handcuffs, and Femme in gold.
To smell like Konvict, it’ll set buyers back $41.95 until the end of April, when it jumps up to $49.95. Akon has set up Akon Fragrances website at www.akonfragrances.com , where both Homme and Femme are already available for purchase. 10% of the proceeds from sales will go to Akon’s Konfidence Foundation, which is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the conditions in Africa.
