Paris, France (CNS) – Alexander McQueen’s namesake label lives on. The late fashion designer’s Alexander McQueen label will continue to make clothes, according to company owner PPR SA.
PPR chairman and CEO Francois Henri Pinault stated in Paris on Thursday, “The Alexander McQueen trademark will live on Fashion has lost one of its extraordinary people. He was one of the falling stars that comes across our generation [and] he is a person we will miss enormously.”
“We believe a lot in that brand. It has huge potential.”
Robert Polet, president and CEO of Gucci Group, a subsidiary of PPR, also hinted that Alexander McQueen employees would retain their jobs, saying, “Lee was very proud of the people working in his company, and so am I.”
The label will feature new designs during the Paris Fashion Week in March.
McQueen, 40, was found dead last week at his London home.
