Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Another lawsuit filed involving Beyoncé is trying to tarnish her halo. This time, it’s because of an outfit she wore in the music video for her single, “Video Phone.”
Less than two weeks after her House of Dereon was hit with a suit, this time she’s come under fire from Bulgarian bikini designer Iskren Lozanov.
Lozanov and underwear manufacturer Triumph sued Sony for an outfit worn by Beyoncé in the clip which he claims she was wearing an unauthorized reproduction which infringes of the copyright of his black and white, Piccaso-inspired design.
The manufacturers are trying to holdup an injunction which bars Sony from distributing her “Video Phone” clip, which also stars Lady Gaga, in Germany. While Sony argued there were few similarities other than both being inspired by Picasso’s designs, the judge disagreed. He’s on Team Lozanov, saying his design is original and should be protected from the knock-off.
Lawyers for the record label are said to consult with Beyoncé to try and appeal the decision. The 16-time Grammy winner is also involved in a suit by Hong Kong apparel company Vier International, who says her House of Dereon line was trying to undercut the manufacturer’s payments.
