New York, NY, United States (CNS) – There’s luxury and designer alcohol brands but nothing like what Betsey Johnson helped unveil at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. The eccentric designer presented what’s expected to be the most expensive spirits container ever made: a $3 million Chambord bottle.
The ‘Chambord by Donald Edge’ bottle was designed by Edge, an internationally renowned jeweler. The liqueur bottle is adorned with round cut diamonds, pear cut diamonds, a square cut emerald diamond, pearls, and eighteen-carat yellow gold.
The bottle was unveiled for the first time in the U.S. at the W Hotels Arrival Lounge at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with the help of Johnson. The designer was part of Chambord’s “Pink Your Drink” program, which raises awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Johnson is a breast cancer survivor and advocate, herself. “It was natural to tie into this very fashionable occasion and very fashionable designer,” said Josh Hayes, Chambord Brand Manager.
‘Chambord by Donald Edge’ bottle continues its worldwide tour following Fashion Week in New York. It’s already hit London and Berlin and will then travel to Orlando and Australia.
The bottle is not officially the most expensive ever made as of yet. They’re checking with Guinness World Records just to make sure, but at $3 million, it’s pretty much in the bag.
Designer Betsey Johnson also unveiled her latest flamboyant collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as well, which featured Kelly Osbourne modeling her latest looks on the runway while wearing a mustache, and a red-lipped tribute to Alexander McQueen.
