Beijing, China (CNS) – A Chinese designer has been so inspired by Lady Gaga’s eccentric costumes that he has recreated them for his Barbie doll collection. Lu Wei Kang from Beijing spent months reconstructing some of the “Bad Romance” hitmaker’s most outrageous costumes.
Some of the outfits and hair accessories he has recreated are the red crown and veil mask she wore in the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the silver headdress she wore at the recently held Grammys, the Kermit the Frog suit, the hair bow made of her own blonde wig, and the eerie two-piece she wore for the final moment of her “Bad Romance” video, complete with a decaying skeleton.
There is also an Elton John-Ken doll, with sparkly shades and a “hand”-full of piano, which the designer created side by side Lady Gaga’s green costume at this year’s Grammy Awards.
According to the Telegraph, the 29-year-old designer hopes to mass produce his creations and sell them around the globe.
He said, “Nobody else dresses like Lady Gaga. She’s a fashion leader – just look at her in those amazing wigs make-up, and outfits. I pay close attention to her music, clothes, glasses and make-up. Every detail makes me love her more and more and I thought it would be fun to make those wigs and outfits for Barbie dolls.”
