Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – Lady Gaga fans are going to look pretty in pink with her new MAC lipstick. The new shade, which benefits the MAC AIDS Fund, is set to hit stores on March 18th.
As part of the Viva Glam campaign, the Gaga lipstick’s shade is similar to MAC’s Pink Nouveau color, a pink which gets darker with more applications. The lipstick will only set customers back $14.00, with 100 percent of the proceeds from sales going to benefit the MAC AIDS Fund.
The pop singer is collaborating with Cyndi Lauper for the campaign, although unfortunately not musically. They do, however, appear together in new promo shots for Viva Glam. The ads, set to appear in magazines this month, were shot by Ellen Von Unwerth and feature the two singers posing as pinup girls.
Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are also scheduled to appear on Good Morning America and The Today Show next week to promote the new lipstick.
Previous Viva Glam spokespeople include Fergie Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliot, Pamela Anderson, and Boy George. Since it was established in 1994, MAC Cosmetics has donated over $135 million to the MAC Aids Fund.
Lady Gaga also just became the second artist to have five singles sell over 2 million downloads from one album with “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “LoveGame,” “Paparazzi,” and “Bad Romance.” The only artist to have done so is Fergie with “The Duchess.”
Her next single, “Telephone” with Beyoncé, just hit radio and a video with the two is premiering this month.
