CNS' Picks For Best And Worst Golden Globe Fashion 2010

Anthony Jones – Celebrity News Service Reporter

Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) – This year’s Golden Globes had some surprise winners and losers, and it had just the same on the red carpet. While some stars went sleek and chic, others hid under big frumpy ruffles. But while most everyone looked jaw-droppingly stunning, the accessory they nearly add had in common was a small ribbon remembering the tragedy in Haiti. So while some stars might find themselves on CNS’ Picks for the Worst Dressed List, there’s bigger problems to worry about.

    THE BEST

Emily Blunt Nominated for her demure turn in “The Young Victoria” and best known for her fiery role in “The Devil Wears Prada,” Blunt looked more like a natural red carpet angel in her floor length, blush Dolce and Gabbana gown, complete with her gorgeous loose waves let down and accessorized with bracelets and a silver Ferragamo clutch.

Rose Byrne While Sandra Bullock took home the prize for “The Blind Side” in her purple gown, “Damages” star Rose Byrne really did the biggest favors for the color purple on the red carpet in her Lanvin gown, with Stephen Russell brooches added for extra pop.

Maggie Gyllenhaal The 5′9″ “Crazy Heart” star looked like a statuette herself in her fitted, light peach Roland Mouret gown, accessorized with Bulgari jewels.

Marion Cotillard The “Nine” star could wear a tracksuit on the red carpet and still look gorgeous, but her dark green Christian Dior gown with just a peek of black lace is a 10.

Penelope Cruz Another sexy “Nine” star dressing to the nines is Cruz, who was pitch perfect in her black Giorgio Armani Prive gown.

Lea Michelle The “Glee” star went for big and dark for her first major red carpet in her stunning black Oscar de la Renta gown, which shouldn’t rain on anyone’s parade.

Anna Kendrick The “Up in the Air” was both youthful and classic in her one-shoulder, off-white Marchesa gown.

Anna Paquin Paquin traded in her Sookie Stackhouse waitress threads for Stella McCartney, in a golden, shimmering deep-V dress.

    THE WORST

Christina Hendricks The “Mad Men” star was lost in large, overwhelming ruffles and the her Christian Siriano gown’s flesh color on her light skin. Her bold red lipstick was the only thing that made her pop.

Jayma Mays The “Glee” star went with Badgley Mischka for her Golden Globe look. From the waist up, the fitted black and white dress looks stunning, but the spiderweb tulle skirt needs counseling.

Diane Kruger The pleats and textures of Kruger’s Christian Lacroix gown did nothing for the gorgeous Kruger’s figure.

Patricia Arquette The “Medium” star accompanied “Hung” star Thomas Jane on the red carpet, but her frumpy dress would have been better off hung back up on the rack.
