Model Daul Kim Admitted Depression And Abuse From Her Boyfriend Hours Before Her Alleged Suicide
Paris, France (CNS) – News of South Korean model Daul Kim being found dead in her Paris apartment last Thursday after committing suicide has rocked the fashion world. Now, more information has been released in regards to Kim’s state of mind just hours before her death.
Kim reportedly had a conversation with a friend via instant message, with Kim admitting to her own depression and the abusive relationship she had with her boyfriend.
The Daily Beast obtained a transcript of the chat, stating that Kim and her boyfriend had just been in another brutal physical fight, with Kim punching him and him yanking her hair. The model said she was afraid to leave him and was afraid of the agony of being apart. She went on to say that she lost significant weight the last time they broke up, going from 112 to 99 lbs.
The friend then asked Kim to leave town, book a job or call her mother, but she said no and that she would miss her dog. She then ended the chat abruptly, stating that she was going to clean her flat.
Her boyfriend discovered her body just hours later on November 19. Rumors have been circulating that there was a suicide note, but no one has officially confirmed it. The French authorities almost immediately declared her death a probable suicide, but family members are questioning that and have ordered an autopsy. The results should be made public by the end of the week.
Kim, 20, worked for designers such as Dries Van Noten and Alexander McQueen and recently appeared in an advertisement for Christopher Kane’s Topshop line. Karl Lagerfeld described Kim as “his new muse.”
