First Lady Michelle Obama Favors Naeem Khan Gown For Official State Dinner

Washington, DC (CNS) – First Lady Michelle Obama stands out again in an elegant strapless gown during her husband’s administration’s first official state dinner. Mrs. Barack Obama has been praised again for wearing a creation by a little known American designer.

Michelle wore a classic long cut gown in subtle gold fabric with a light cream shawl while she welcomed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Mrs. Gursharan Kaur to the White House on Tuesday.

The masterpiece, which the First Lady complemented with a dignified updo hairstyle, chandelier earrings, and a stack of gold-and-diamond bangles, was created by designer Naeem Khan.

Khan has been on the fashion industry since 2003 and has dressed Beyonce, Katherine Heigl, and Alicia Keys on some occasions, but it is this particular Whitehouse client that may help him be a household name.

Michelle is known for favoring lesser known designers’ creations to wear on high-profile events. She chose a Jason Wu white one-shoulder dress for her inaugural ball gown earlier this year.
