Melbourne, Australia (CNS) – For the sake of peaceful night outs, metrosexuals have been banned from a popular Melbourne club. According to the promoter, men in “metrosexual” attire won’t be allowed to get in.
Scott Mellor told news.com.au that the move bids to end a “sports jock mentality” and aggression inside clubs and bars.
Some of the clothes banned in the Dorcia event hosted in the Ding Dong Lounge include low-cut V-neck T-shirts, skinny jeans, pointed white shoes, tight tees, and polo shirts with popped collars.
Popular brands such as Ed Hardy and those “fight fashion” line from Tapout also made the list of banned attires. Men with blond tips or dyed rats’ tails are also not allowed inside.
Mellor added that they are not turning away metrosexual men, but they are simply providing a venue or those who don’t subscribe to the standards of 90 percent of other clubs.
Management will also photograph troublemakers for a “name and shame” wall inside the club’s entrance.
