IN OCTOBER OF 2000, Lauren Moffatt, along with partner Rob Pepin, launched their first collection of must have vintage-chic looks. For the first two seasons, Miss Moffatt sewed all of the pieces–over several hundred–out of her 31-foot sailboat home docked in NYC’s Hudson River.

Inspired by fabric, colors, and textures, Miss Moffatt created a small collection that generated overnight buzz and quickly grew into a multi-million dollar company, prompting Women’s Wear Daily to name her one of ten up-and-coming talents in January 2001. Shortly after, the collection grew to include swimwear, handbags, and accessories.

The Lauren Moffatt look has been coveted from city gals to celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Mandy Moore, Eva Mendes, Ashley Olsen, Sophia Bush, and Michelle Williams.
