Los Angeles, CA (CNS) – Actress Demi Moore and husband Ashton Kutcher were among many of the celebrities who stepped out to help stop slavery forever at the 2009 Freedom Awards to benefit charity Free the Slaves.
Demi looked beautiful, decked out in head-to-toe Lavin, wearing the designer’s beige techno voile draped evening gown with black, panther enamel necklace and satin pumps with sculptural wood heels.
Other celebrities at the event included author Isabel Allende, football star Emmitt Smith, actress Camilla Belle, actress Jenifer Lewis, Olympian Maurice Green, Ambassador Lou CdeBaca, film director Tom Shadyac and musicians Peter Buffett, Alex Band and Rickie Byars Beckwith.
The event was held at the Bovard Auditorium at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Free the Slaves works on the ground with liberators around the world to help free men, women and children and provide basic needs such as food, shelter and safety from angry slave owners. It is the first global plan that intends to help end slavery and human trafficking.
