London, England (CNS) – Multiple Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefans’ pendant has been confiscated in a London airport. The “Turn The Beat Around” hitmaker’s “Bullets 4 Peace” pendant was taken for safekeeping by the pilot during her flight from London to Milan.
The jewelry, made of real bullet, was originally going to be permanently confiscated, but the pilot apparently agreed to hold it in the cockpit for the duration of the flight and gave it back to her upon landing in Italy.
This is not the first time a “Bullets 4 Peace” necklace, designed by former Israeli army officer Rafi Anteby, was confiscated in an airport.
Rapper Snoop Dogg’s pendant was also taken at the Beirut International Airport last week. He was on his way back to the U.S. after a concert in Lebanon when his “Bullets 4 Peace” jewelry was confiscated.
Anteby designed the pendant made out of real bullet casings that have been removed from the streets and from war zones around the globe. Each bullet is handcrafted with unique artwork. Proceeds from its sales help support various charitable organizations.
Celebrities, including Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Eva Longoria-Parker, Beyonce, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Foxx, and Kanye West have been spotted wearing one.
